Head em up! Move em out! Raw hide!

We're moving this week!!! I'm so excited to be back in our own apartment. However I am so not excited for the drive. Bleck! Why couldn't I have had a rich great-uncle who died and left everybody a good share of his billion dollars so we could fly. Oh well.

The apartment we got is on The Island. If any of you know Logan, you'll know where that is. It's a townhouse style apartment. The landlord seems super nice. Which is always a huge plus. She's putting in brand new carpet, brand new tiles in the kitchen and bathroom, as well as a new paint job. YAY!!! We also got a pretty good deal on rent. Especially since gas is included. And we all know that once winter comes, the more the gas bill will be going up. Good thing we don't have to pay for it.

One downside is all of our stuff is still in Rexburg. On the bright side of that, we'll get to go to Wingers. It's this restaurant that I've been missing terribly. Their specialty is chicken fingers and they have the BEST sauce in the world.

For those of you that are going to the Reese reunion, we hopefully plan on making it out for that. At least on Saturday. So we'll probably be leaving about Thursday-ish and staying over night somewhere. Hopefully we'll see you there. If not we'll see everybody at Bryce's wedding or whenever!

HGTV addiction

HGTV, the "Home and Garden Television" channel is my new drug. I cannot stop watching HGTV. I totally blame mom for it too. It's too full of crafty, artsy, fartsy stuff for the home. There for I am addicted. It's making me crazy to own my own home and have an unlimited budget so I can fulfill a magnificent design for my bedroom or bathroom. As well as make a totally sweet looking backyard.
One of my favorite shows on there is David Bromstad's "Color Splash." Trust me, if you watch it, you'll be hooked too. There's also of course HGTV's DesignStar. It's basically like American Idol, America's Got Talent, and Survivor all mixed together but for Designers. lol. The guy who actually produces/ed Survivor is producing this one as well. Which I just find very interesting.

So here's my warning and my suggestion. If you love arts and crafts and stuff like that, watch HGTV. My warning is, you will forever be in love with this channel and never want to watch anything else ever again! Or at least that is what has happened to me.

Hello everyone. So if any of you didn't hear, Jesse and I are done with our program at Disney. So now we are here in Southern Illinois visiting Jesse's family. Good news, we get to see Jesse's family. Bad news, we've claimed one of Jesse's, brother's bedroom. Other good news, his brother's bed is a huge improvement over our air mattress. You'll also find it funny that our air mattress just so happened to pop the last night we were in our apartment. We also ran out of the ridiculously huge package of toilet paper we had bought. Cuz that meant we were really leaving. lol.

So what are we doing now? Trying to readjust our sleeping back to a more normal schedule and catching up on missed TV shows. i.e. HGTV's Design Star. I am completely and utterly addicted to HGTV these days. However, next week Jesse and I plan on beginning to sell watermelons for Jesse's grandpa so we can make a little money on the side in preparations for grad school. Wish us luck.

We have been looking for apartments in the mean time and so far we haven't been very lucky. Every time we try to contact somebody, nobody answers us back. It's very frustrating. However, today we were actually able to have Brittany (thank you so much by the way) go look at an apartment for us. We are desperately hoping we get it. It has older fixtures, but other than that it's clean, in a great location close to campus, we can paint it. AND we can have a cat with no added costs. YIPPY!!! So everyone cross your fingers for us cuz we really, really want it.

We DID IT!!!

Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! Jesse has finally been accepted into graduate school at USU! The recruiter that we were going through apologized because she said she was the reason why it took so long in getting back to us about Everything! However she did say that Mr. So-and-So was very impressed with the interview. =) He said he was impressed at how much Jesse has to work here at Disney ;) (aka 50-60 hour weeks) and he was impressed with his grades! Isn't Jesse such a good little student! But it's official we are indeed going to be moving back after our program ends the first week of August. We dont know our plans for sure but we will be stopping in Illinois to visit Jesse's family =) and then some point make the rest of the trek out to Utah for Bryce's wedding. We are very excited to see everyone out west again! We'll keep you all updated on how things are going out here. Thank you for your prayers!

So I realize that it has indeed been a month since I last posted. In fact the inspiration (or like kick in the toosh) to blog is because my sister-in-law just posted a bunch of pictures and it reminded me that i need to as well. So get ready for lots of info and pictures. Woopy!

1st Topic: What's going on with Jesse and I?

We are still at Disney World doing the same thing as yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that. However we did finally make it to the Orlando, FL temple. It's HUGE, and very beautiful. One very striking thing about it is there are these two HUGE pillars, like GIGANTIC pillars that seriously remind me of Solomon's Temple. And there are palm trees everywhere on the grounds. I'm still getting used to seeing palm trees everywhere I go.

2nd Topic: School...USU?

Have we heard from USU. Why yes we have. Jesse finally had an interview with a Mr. So-and-So and just chatted with him about life, the mystery of the cosmos, USU's football team and other sports, oh and of course the HR program. lol nah mainly just life and the HR program. Mr. So-and-So is actually the Director of Graduate Studies in Human Resources. So it was a pretty important phone call. It seemed to go well enough and he said we would hear back from USU in about a week or two. The interview was last Tuesday and we are absolutely dying to hear back from them! So cross your fingers and pray that USU sends us something soon (and that hopefully it's an acceptance)!

3rd Topic: PICTURES!!!

This is the little froggy we found in front of our door one day.
We almost opened the door without noticing him.
lol He just wanted to come in and visit us.

M&M World!!! *chorus of angels*

I was craving blueberry pancakes one day.
So Jesse made me a blueberry pancake! =)

Sheikra at Busch Gardens. All time fav. Roller Coaster

Jesse's dad and brothers came to visit us for a week.
So we of course took them to Disney, Busch Gardens, and the beach.

the funny little turtles stickin their feet up in the air.

Rambling

Hello everyone. It's been a long time since I posted and not much has gone on with us in Florida. All we do is work, work, work. Seriously! So if you have not had any contact with any of us in a long time, other than the occasional text message, we are terribly sorry and do not mean to cause offense. Believe me when i say our sleep schedule is so off kilter. I don't think we get to bed until around 4 or 5 in the morning anymore. Which means we never wake up until 1 or 2. Disney has got us working really late hours and therefore can't help it.

So as an update on schooling and stuff like that, Jesse is taking a online class for BYU-I. They didn't budge a bit after we argued with them for forever! Then we started having issues with SIU (the school Jesse went to before transferring to BYU-I) sending his transcript to USU. Thank goodness though that we've cleared it up just recently. Now, after explaining to USU multiple times that we will be graduated by the time the grad program starts, we are crossing out fingers hoping they will give us good news.

On the other side of school, we are looking for jobs to pursue after our experience here at Disney. If anybody heres of anything, please, please, please, let us know about it. But yeah that pretty much sums up life for us at the moment. Hopefully things will start to look up for us. Pray for us and we love you all!

Celebrity Encounters

Hello everyone. So you wanna hear the latest news from Florida? Well here it is. You'll never guess who I met, talked to, and found to be a huge jerk. He's a celebrity. No he's not Brad Pitt or anything like that. No, it was actually "Dog" the Bounty Hunter (and family). If you don't know who he is then here's a picture.

How I met him was I was minding my own business at work when I looked over and saw that there was a VIP group coming in wanting to ride the ride. I also notice that they were doing something very wrong. What that was, was they were walking in, they were walking along a yellow line we have in our stations at Big Thunder Mountain. We make guests stay behind that yellow line because that is our "safety zone." If you step past it then you run the risk of getting hit by the trains as they are coming into the station. So being a good person that I am and always thinking of safety, I ask them to step away from it. First off, they asked me "Why?" in the most snotty way possible. I gave them my reason that I just told you. Thankfully they moved away from it. Now at the current position that I was in at the time when they came in is called "Unload." At that position I watch the oncoming train making sure everything is ok and nobody is trying to jump out of their seat. Well while I was watching for the oncoming train I noticed that someone was standing next to me and they were past the yellow line. I first saw the boots, then I looked up and saw that it was THE Bounty Hunter standing next to me. So I of course asked him to step behind the yellow line in the nicest, most sweetest way possible and then stepped in front of him so he couldn't do it again and also "shielding" them from the oncoming train. (Cast Members can step past the yellow line). So to sum this story up, I then heard "Dog" repeatedly say that I had a big mouth and that he wanted his wife to stand next to him so she could hold him back because I had a big mouth. . . . I thought I was going to die! But thankfully nothing happened and when they were done they went along their merry way.

I thought I was safe. But you'll never guess who came back the very next day. Yup, "Dog" was back. And not only was he back, but I was the one who had to put him and his group on the train (we have a specific position that puts wheelchair parties, etc. onto the trains). I made sure one of our Coordinators was out there with me in case he tried to be rude again. Surprisingly though, he was very nice! He even patted me on the back. I think he didn't recognize me because I was wearing pigtails that day. And his wife was obviously intoxicated so she was in her own little world. But yeah! I was shaking so badly after they left. I felt like I was going to hyperventilate! If anything, now I can say that I, Ashley Crawford, was able to contain "Dog" the Bounty Hunter. haha I was kind of glad he came back because I wanted to show him who was boss and that he couldn't just push me around! Even though I was scared stiff of him at the same time! lol
